Onboarding
Welcome to KinderHealth! We’re honored that you’ve chosen us to care for your child. Before your first visit, please complete the following steps:
- Fill out the Enrollment Form: Download and complete the form here. Please send it to us before your first visit.
- Medicaid/MCO Patients: Call your insurance provider to update your Primary Care Provider (PCP) to KinderHealth.
- Medical Record Transfer: Download the Medical Release Form and request your medical records from your current PCP to be transferred to us.
- Bring Your Insurance Card: Please remember to bring your insurance card to your visit.
Billing
- Understand Your Insurance: We will bill your insurance as a courtesy, but if you’re unsure if a service is covered, please contact your insurance provider before your visit.
- Insurance Card: Bring your insurance card to every visit. Medicaid/MCO patients should ensure their PCP is updated to KinderHealth.
- Payment Policy: Copays and coinsurance are due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards (American Express, Discover, Visa, Mastercard).
Insurance and Coverage
- Insurance Plans: KinderHealth accepts most major insurance plans, including private and Medicaid. If you have questions about coverage, please call our office at 410-697-5357.
- Payment Responsibility: Patients are responsible for payment, even if insurance doesn’t cover the full amount. If your plan requires a copay, it is due at the time of your visit.
- Insurance Coding: We follow proper coding guidelines for all services. We cannot alter visit reasons or diagnoses to ensure insurance coverage. If you believe there is an error, please contact our billing office.
Adding Newborns to Insurance
- Contact your insurance company as soon as possible after your baby is born. Most plans allow 30 days to add your newborn.
Unpaid Accounts
- If your insurance doesn’t cover the full cost of your care, we will send a statement for the remaining balance.
Appointments
- Missed Appointments: If you can’t make your appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be considered no-show and may incur a fee. Three or more no-shows may result in dismissal from the practice.
- Late Policy: If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for a Well Child appointment, you may need to reschedule. This helps us stay on schedule and respect the time of other patients.
Vaccine Policy and Philosophy
- Immunization Guidelines: We follow the vaccine recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the CDC. For more information, visit the AAP Immunization website and the CDC website.
- Our Vaccine Philosophy: We believe all children should receive the recommended vaccines to prevent diseases. Vaccines are safe, effective, and essential for maintaining good health. If you have any concerns, we’re happy to discuss them at your child’s next visit.
